The chance to explore our winery is back! After a long hiatus during the Covid-19 era, we’re ready to hit the vines with winery tours and tastings returning 6 days a week! With the addition of many new team members, we’re able to spread our efforts from wall to wall of this beautiful building, so we may as well bring you with us! Winery tours begin at 11am daily, with a second 3pm tour Sunday through Friday!
Much of our team has dedicated their careers to this vineyard, having learned something new about viticulture, conservation, winemaking, or tasting every day. The opportunity to share what we learn with our guests is a genuine joy to us.
On the tour, you’re taken into the vines to learn about our history, growing season and agricultural practices. Then, into the winery to discuss winemaking techniques and tools, followed by a detour to our barrel room where you’ll be taught about oak aging from tree to bottle. Once the creation portion of our tour subsides, you’ll be taken for a close look at our every handy bottling machine. If you visit on the right day, a special treat is to watch it in use by our masterful Winemakers George and Michael! Once the tour wraps, it’s onto the wine tasting!
Many people wonder why we do a wine tasting, after our tour. We think this order is beneficial in reflecting on the information our guests have just learned, and transform it into how to select, taste, and experience the wine tasting. Plus, witnessing where your wine comes from feels much better once the mystery is gone.
We hope to see many new faces joining us on tours soon. It’s exciting to be in the full swing of things again!
We have plenty in store for this upcoming summer season! Our Tank Patio is open every weekend through Labor Day for a cookout style hangout spot by the vines, plus, our Wednesday Music Series is returning June 21st with Cold Wayne, in congruence with Taproot’s 5 year Anniversary! 2023 is the year to celebrate! with many milestones coming our way, we have every excuse to party!
