Hopelands is our original vineyard, situated on the banks of
the
Sakonnet River. The oldest vines go back to the late 1970's,
planted
by retired Navy Captain Richard Alexander and the land is
still farmed
today by the Nunes family through land leases. The French
hybrid vines on this site consistently produce crisp,
complex wines due to the heavy shale soils and the cooling
evening breezes of Narragansett Bay.
